Ice, Ice Baby...

Leslie & Madison decide to entertain us today. Darryl is DJ'ing to night for a wedding and we had the equipment out getting ready for the evening. I think we might be able to make some money on them!?! I didn't know that Leslie knew this song. They crack me up.

Kids!

I love my job! I have so much fun with my little kindergartners. They say the funniest things to me. I try to remember them so when I get home I can share with my family. Well, I decided to share some because they are so funny. These little kids are so Innocent but just say what is on their minds. I will change the names to protect the Innocent.

One day "Johnny" tells me he has a dog. I ask him what his dog's name is and he tells me "her name is Jeannie", I say to him "oh, how funny because that is my name". He thinks that is so funny and turns to "Sam", "Guess what! "My dog has the same name as hers". Sam looks at him weird and says..."your dogs name is Mrs. Reynolds?"

I took the class to the bathroom before lunch recess. They were lining up and I look down at "Susie" and she is holding herself. I ask, "Susie are you OK"? She says..."yes, sometimes when I go to the bathroom my Vagina gets wet and I have to do this to dry it off". I said, "did you wipe?" She said, "oh, I forget sometimes."

I was doing some testing one day and this little boy sets down and a few minutes later he looks like he is holding himself. I said, "do you need to go to the bathroom"? He says "no, sometimes 'THEY' get stuck to my underwear and I have to move 'THEM'"!

They just crack me up! What a fun job I have.

Mule Creek

In August we went to Mule Creek for a Trainor (my mom's side of the family) Family Reunion. It was in Mule Creek, New Mexico. It was so beautiful. We went on a little hike and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. We had such a nice time with the family. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The Imginagions

Did I mention the he "Imaginations" came to girls camp this year? They sang and danced for us! Wow, they where fantastic! I know you wish you could have been there!
OK, yes it is me on the right. I felt like since I put Darryl on our blog I should put me also. Trying to be fair. The good thing is I'm in Incognito .

Fun times at girls camp

Can I just say I love Camp! Every year we get the men to do some funny skit that they hate! Well this year we had them do "river dance". I found some great pants and shirts (thanks to Stacy Householders mom costume store) for the men to wear. They were so tight that it was hysterical. Darryl was Michael Flagerty (I think that is his name). The girls screamed so loud! Oh my gosh it was the funniest thing ever.

They had the real "River Dance" on the screen and then the men came out like they were apart of the dance. Darryl kept thinking he was done and would look behind him and they were still going in the video so he would start again. I have a video but couldn't get it pulled up. I will work on that, because if you need a laugh here is the place. As Darryl grabbed his chest to hold them I almost died, I kept shaking my head saying 'no, no please no!'.

This is my ward young women and some leaders. They were great. I had so much fun with them and getting to know them. They were so much fun. I look forward to next year!

Out with the old...in with the New

Here is y sewing machine I have had for sooo many years! I think I got it when I was 16 or 17 and it was a hand me down then. Well I have babied this poor machine and every year it seems like I have to get it fixed! I couldn't take it any longer this year. I had just finished my 3rd quilt and I was starting on girls camp quilts and I didn't have time to deal with this fossil! I made a decisionand went and found me a new sewing machine!
Here is my new machine! I love it! I'm sure my husband and family are tired of it because It is out in the family room, and I'm helping sew LOTs of quilts with the Young Women. We have 13 days left before camp! Not many are done! Mine is! I do love my new machine! It is the small things in life.

4th of July

We moved into our home on Bel Air 7 years ago, it is really hard to believe! One of the best things about our home is that we can take our chairs out on the lawn and watch the fireworks in the front yard from the Mesa Country Club. It has been so much fun. We have people stop by and bring thier chairs or blankets and watch them with us. Everyone is welome. Our family seemed to be spread out and about this year. This last 4th I spent up in Pima, Arizona with Kami and Steven so I could pick up Leslie from EFY at 7:00 am on the 5th. Darryl and Madison were home with all the fun people that come by. They had a special treat this year to have the missionaies over and a young girl to have a missionary discussion. Darryl said it was great! Craig was way far away in Brazil! No Independance Day for them on the 4th! I enjoyed being with Kami and Steven and watching the fireworks in Thatcher. I did miss my tradition of being on the front lawn. Next year maybe we will all be together.

Cinnamon Rolls

Look at that yummy cinnamon roll! Well I just want to tell you what a sweetie my husband is.
I first need to tell you that the 5 1/2 years that Darryl was Bishop he didn't like the YW to have fundraisers for girls camp. He just gave them the money out of the budget and girls came up with the rest. For 5 1/2 years I have given him a hard time because I thought it was a great idea for them to earn money through a fundraiser. Any who...We now have a new bishop and he is completely OK with fundraiser...bless his little heart! So for my first fundraiser as the new YW pres. we decided to sell homemade cinnamon rolls for father's day. First of all, Darryl makes a wonderful cinnamon roll and anyone who has tasted them loves them. Well, we did a great job selling. Just guess how many rolls we sold? I was going to be so happy if we sold 50 dozen
(now 50 dozen is a lot).
Are you guessing?

We sold 132 dozen cinnamon rolls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you Hear me?
132 DOZEN CINNAMON ROLLS!
I must say, Darryl didn't complain at all except once to say...remember I hate fundraisers.

He had things so organized. Two days before he bought ingredients, prepared the Cinnamon/brown sugar mixture and the 70 POUNDS of cream cheese frosting. We started Saturday morning about 6:30 am and the girls and leaders showed up at 8:00 am. He had 5 work stations making bread in the kitchen, a rolling out station, a frosting station, a boxing station. We baked at two homes and the kitchen at the ward. (Thanks to Jay & Shye Petersen for coming and going all day to bake, return to the Church, pick up more, back home, bake more, back to the church.....) Darryl was so organized.

We put the music on and started our day. The girls and leaders did such a great job! Thanks to all who helped (Darryl's cousin, Bill also). We finished about 6:30 pm. It was such success! Our feet and backs are killing us (I'm sure the extra weight we carry and our age don't help matters) I want everyone to know how wonderful Darryl is. I would have complained, cussed etc. But he just put on a great smile and went to work. By the time the last batch went in oven the girls had down the right size to cut the cinnamon roll, how much frosting was really suppose to be on each roll (OK, some of the leaders went a little over board and we could not tell if it was a box of frosting or cinnamon rolls) they looked great and tasted great. We had so much fun. Someone asked at church today if we were going to do this again? My response was...Don't ask today, it is a lot like giving birth it is to soon to think about. Thanks to all who supported us!
Happy Cinnamon Father's Day

A new do.........

Madison decided she wanted her hair done in
corn rows. It took Leslie 3 1/2 hours to do this.
First of all to get Madison to be still for that long
is amazing and for Leslie to do that for that long
an it look great!
I called her Bo Derek and she of coarse didn't
know who that was.
I'm sure we will have a burnt scalp after swim!
We will see how long this lasts.

My sweetie

This is my sweetie! He was released from being a
bishop, after 5 3/4 year (but who is counting)
on Mother's Day and now he has a go tee (spell).
Isn't he cute!

Our new pets

It is amazing how such cute things can put my world in an uproar! I have noticed that my leaves of my grapes have been eaten by something, so I did some investigating! Well, to my surpise I found these wonderful worms! I picked off at least 100 of these wonderful things, put them in a tupperware bowl to show the whole family what I found. I wanted to know what they were so I went to my wonderful computer and the www, and I typed in "yellow and purple worm- grape leaves" (thinking there is no way that I will find anything out that easy. Well, this picture popped up and so did info on how to take care of them! Well, I said, "you must die suckers"! So my wonderful husband went off to the big Home Depot to buy something to take care of these lovely pets we did not ask to live with us. I am hoping my grapes don't die because they are exposed to the sun! Look out you little nasty worms!

We are property owners!

Well, we are proud owners of property in Pima, Arizona! Right now it has a wonderful trailor with lots of mouse poop! We don't plan on moving up to Pima but thought we might need it?! It is down the street and around the corner from Kami and Steven's house. Now to decide what to do with it.

What a wonderful home grown meal

I wish I had a camera right now to show you our wonderful dinner we had tonight! We feel so...self reliant! We had a late lunch at In and Out so for dinner we went to our garden and picked corn on the cob, yum, squash, artichokes, cucumbers & tomatoes! It was great and then Darryl made cupcakes for FHE! What a great dinner. I must say we are so proud of our garden. This is the first time we have been able to grow a good garden at this house. The raised beds have worked great.

Craig in Rio

Craig loves his mission. He tells us he has never been happier. He is in his 10th month and the time is going by so fast. We are so proud of him and all he does. We have loved watching him grow spiritually.

Check out my Slide Show!

Steven and Kami’s infant Angel

A Parent’s heart, a tender bruise
As they received unwelcome news:
She left so soon, her mission done...
They felt she’d stay to have some fun.

Mom thought to hug, and nurse ha bit.
And make her clothes; buy shoes to fit.
Dad knew not of her work to do
In spheres above, closed to his view.

But Father knew her worth above
And took her home to serve with love.
She’s needed there to do His work
And save some lives-she dares not shirk.

She knows her mom, and papa, too...
And someday she’ll return to you.
Our Father and His Son she’ll love.

And when this world is cold and dim
And life is bleak, she’ll step back in
And tell you of her mission fair
And all the work she did while there.

And then she’ll settle down again
To be the gal you thought her then.
Kami, her Mom, Steven, her pop...
Yours, then, to teach –the love won’t stop.

With joy so pure, a perfect life;
Can’t stay upon this earth of strife...
God’s perfect child lives up above;
You’ll get her back someday-with love!

One of Madison's favorite things

We (Madison, Leslie and I) went to Kami and Steven's for a few days and Madison loves to go to the Palmer's and see the horses. The miniature horse had a baby a few days before we got there. He is so cute. Madison got to hold him, he is that small. Thanks to the Palmer's for the entertainment.

Spring Time

I love to Garden, but only from October to May. I hope you enjoy the beautiful flowers we have at this time. I know they will go away soon. Gardening is very therapeutic for me. As beautiful as the flowers and trees are I think Heaven will be 100% better.

Aubrey's Memorial

Aubrey Ruth Palmer was born March 7, 2008. She weighed 4.2 pounds and 17 inches long. It was a day we all looked forward to but knew it could be a sad time for us also.

Kami did great during the labor they got her started with some medication about 11:00 pm and by 7:25 am she delivered Aubrey. She was delivered breech (bum first). We were sad to not to have her alive but we know that her spirit was with us.
She had black hair and the most beautiful angel face. It didn't take long for her little body to start breaking down and and we had to be so careful with her body so the skin would not break and bleed. We got to hold her for as long as we wanted and we felt like her spirit was watching over us. We dressed her in a beautiful white "little" dress my mom (her Great Grammy) made for her and got her ready for the mortuary.

To watch Steven and Kami hold her and touch her so tenderly was a touching experience for me. Steven took her personaly down to the morg. He wanted to take her and as he got there her nose had some blood on it. He gave her a kiss told her he loved her put her down. He stopped after he walked a few feet and asked for a tissue. He went back over to her and wiped the blood off her nose. He said "I couldn't leave her like that, I know Kami would want me to do this. They are such great parents and one day will get to have a child to raise here! We know that we will see and be with Aubrey again and we are grateful to know this.

We had a graveside memorial Saturday, March 8th and we hope this will help start our healing process. Both Grandpa's gave a few thoughts and Steven dedicated the grave site. We met at our home after for a luncheon and enjoyed our families. We also had "letters to Aubrey" for the kids and those who wanted to send a letter to Aubrey on a balloon. We attached the note to the balloon and let it go. Their are 28 grand kids on Steven's side of the family and I think they really enjoyed this as the adults did. I love the innocence of children and to hear there little letters were so tender and sweet.
Thank you all for your prayers we feel your love and support.

Aubrey

Kami and Steven were down this past weekend so Kami could go to the Dr.'s and have another ultra sound. Aubrey now weighs 3 1/3 pounds, still at 1% on the growth chart. One of the pictures below is one of the problems she has and that is a whole in her heart. I have learned more about genetics in the past few months! I had never heard about Trisomy 18 before.

Kami is 35 weeks and the time is coming soon.

As a mother I want to take all the pain away from Kami and Steven if Aubrey doesn't live long. I have problems with wanting to be in control and I have no control over what happens with Aubrey. We are praying for her and hope that we all get to keep her for some time. I know we have trials in life and they help us grow and become better people but some trials seems so hard to bare. I know that this is in the Lords hands and that he loves us. We will make it through this. We will love every minute we get with Aubrey. It has been so wonderful to have these 3 & 4D ultrasounds to watch her grow. We can even see hair starting to grow.

I will keep you posted.

Aubrey at 35 weeks...

The joy's of music

Madison has been taking cello for two years now and is doing very well. She plays at school. We hope she keeps it up. She wishes at times she played the violin, it is not as big to carry around!
She is also in her 2nd year of piano. On Feb. 2 she played in an piano Ensemble with 20 othe piano's on the stage playing at the same time. It sounds so wonderful as they play different parts to make up the song. It is a great experience.

The Wedding

Kami and Steven were married July 6, 2006. It was a wonderful day and we love having Steven in our family. Darryl decided to do a power point for the lunchen after the sealing and he had several pictures of him with guns telling Steven if he didn't treat his daughter right he would be around! It was quit funny!

Isn't he to cute!

The four of us...

This is one of our pictures taken up at Kami and Steven' house. We went to the apple orchard and had a fun day with them. It seems wierd to only have two kids at home. We are enjoying the though! They make us laugh.
